Street and Road Rainwater harvesting (Control Flooding)

Most people have understood the importance and the urgency of rain water harvesting and have taken the required action in homes and buildings. .
But what the Government has not realized is that Streets take up a major part of the surface area and the water that falls on streets is not retained in that area, but is carried away by street gutters and storms drains to be mixed with sewage and dumped in an unusable area, also flooding of streets and houses.  A total waste of millions of gallons of good water.

Given below is a simple solution for retaining and collecting water in the streets and ensuring that some part of it goes back into the soil where it falls, and is not wasted. Water is also evenly drained into the soil to avoid flooding.

The gutters are made at a slight slope which drains the water into the soil through stone gravel that are placed at regular interval along the drain. Service trap doors can be placed above this to clean debris that may accumulate. This way they don't have to open out the full drain for cleaning, just clean under the traps.

Management of the gutters make sure that rain water does not accumulate and create flooding. Flooding happens because all the water drains to the lowest spot. If some of the water is seeps into the soil before it reaches the lowest spots then chances of flooding are reduced.
